Power of God: Don’t Look Back

In Exodus 13:17-14:31 the children of Israel have escaped Egypt and camp by the sea. They look back in fear as Pharaoh comes after them but we see 3 ways that God’s mercy and grace is displayed: His Promise to them. His Presence with them. His Power for them. They thought the enemy behind them was more powerful than the God before them. Often times we have a tendency to look back to things that we’re used to or are…

Christ, Our Passover

During the passover the Israelites applied the blood of a spotless lamb over their door to be protected from God’s judgement. Christ is our passover lamb.

One True God

As we read through the plagues that God sent on the Egyptians we see God’s purposes and we see 3 warnings for us in the life of Pharaoh.

Divine Disappointment

Circumstances of life often lead to discouragement and disappointment. But God is still on the throne. Disappointments come when we expect from God what He never promised or when we forget the things that He has.

Divine Enablement

We see in Exodus 4 that God’s divine enablement makes our excuses invalid. When God calls us to do something, he attaches a promise that He’s going to equip us to do it.

God Makes Himself Known

We need to base our understanding of who God is based on who He says He is. Not in what we read on Facebook, a meme with a photo of Jesus, or what a fallen human says about God. In Exodus 3:1-22 God tells Moses who He is and reveals several of His attributes.

His Way, His Timing, His Power

God was going to deliver his people and he was going to use Moses to accomplish it. But deliverance would come in His way, in His timing and in His power.
