In Exodus 13:17-14:31 the children of Israel have escaped Egypt and camp by the sea. They look back in fear as Pharaoh comes after them but we see 3 ways that God’s mercy and grace is displayed:
- His Promise to them.
- His Presence with them.
- His Power for them.
They thought the enemy behind them was more powerful than the God before them.
Often times we have a tendency to look back to things that we’re used to or are more comfortable with. But our challenge is to look forward to what God has for us in the future. The presence of God and the power of God provide freedom from fear.
“God, send me anywhere, only go with me. Lay any burden on me, only sustain me. Sever any tie in my heart, except the tie that binds my heart to yours.”
