Sermons by Kevin Meadows (Page 14)
God Reigns
God is greater than what enslaves you.
Divine Enablement
We see in Exodus 4 that God’s divine enablement makes our excuses invalid. When God calls us to do something, he attaches a promise that He’s going to equip us to do it.
God Makes Himself Known
We need to base our understanding of who God is based on who He says He is. Not in what we read on Facebook, a meme with a photo of Jesus, or what a fallen human says about God.
In Exodus 3:1-22 God tells Moses who He is and reveals several of His attributes.
Quiet Providence
God’s providence is often subtle and is often quiet.
Hope for the World
Jesus is the hope of the world.
Hope is Coming
Jesus changes everything.
Giving Thanks – Psalms 100
Today we will go through Psalms 100 and consider our call to worship, our call to have perspective, and our call to give thanks.
Parable of the Ten Minas
Today we will study the parable of the ten minas, a parable told because the Jews believed the kingdom of God was to appear immediately. We will discuss how Jesus is a King in waiting.
Overestimating our Righteousness
We tend to over-estimate our own goodness. That is, we think deep down that we’re really ok people. Self-righteousness is blatantly anti-Jesus. When we overestimate our righteousness, we place ourselves on a god-like pedestal and devalue the nature and death of Jesus.
Parable of the Soils – Heart Check
Today we discuss the parable of the soils from Matthew 13. We will look into the 4 different heart conditions that Jesus describes.
