Words to Guide Your Summer

Words to Guide Your Summer

Colossians 3:15-17

3 imperatives:

  1. Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart
  2. Let the word of Christ dwell in you
  3. Do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus

Words to guide your summer:

1. Walk in His Peace (Colossians 3:15)

Positional peace is being at peace with God.
Practical peace is when you experience the peace of God.

2. Live in His Word (Colossians 3:16)

2 Timothy 3:16
God’s word tells us:

  • What is right – teaching
  • What is not right – reproof
  • How to get right – correction
  • How to stay right – training

3. Go in His Name (Colossians 3:17)

To go in the Name of Jesus means I go:

  • Under His authority
  • In His Spirit
  • On His behalf

One of the greatest hindrances to Christian’s today is the common habit of dividing our lives into two areas—the sacred and the secular.

A.W. Tozer

My friend, whatever you do – at your place of employment, in your home, and in all relationships with others, can you say, I’m doing this in the name of the Lord Jesus’? If you can say that, if you are doing it in his name, then go ahead and do it. This is a marvelous standard, a yardstick, that we can put down on our lives.
