The Non-Negotiables, part 2

Today we continue to explore several non-negotiables of our faith:

1. Sin
   Sin is any disobedience in word, thought or action to the commands of God.
   • Sin is something we inherit – Romans 5:12, 18-19
   • Sin is something we choose – Romans 3:23
   • What does sin do?

     • Sin separates – Isaiah 59:2
     • Sin permeates – Romans 3:10-18
     • Sin devastates  – Romans 6:23 
2. God’s Plan of Salvation
   Salvation is the act of God to forgive and save people from sin, death and Hell.  Ephesians 2:8-9
   
   • Salvation is from God
   • Salvation is a gift
   • Salvation is exclusive – John 14:6, Acts 4:12
   • Salvation is sure
   • Salvation is secure

How does God save?
JESUS!

• He bore our sin –  1 Peter 2:24
• He paid the price – John 19:30
• He satisfied the wrath of God – 1 John 4:9-10
